Where is originality in contemporary film? Take a look at Sunshine, it just quotes 2001, Alien, even Event Horizon. But I'm desperate to see something I've never seen before, just as the audience did in 1969 watching 2001.

man thats exactly how i feel about this film..its some guys perspective on space..because no one really knows whats out there and the effect it has on the human mind..the film leaves this up to your imagination..true classic

yeah that is what makes art wonderful, I just cant stand people who look at something and dont have the imagination to find the a meaning in something themselves.also if you read the book it clears up many mysteries about the film. read the book... its incredible |
