Neil Gaiman's short-lived urban fantasy series, devised with Lenny Henry.Episode 1 of 6: Door (3/3)First aired: 12/09/1996Richard is on the way to a dinner with his fiancée Jessica when a young girl falls to the pavement in front of them, obviously hurt. Despite Jessica's threats of ending the engagement, Richard feels he must help. The girl, named Door, asks not to be taken to a doctor or hospital so Richard brings her back to his flat where she recovers. Because of this act of kindness, Richard is forced to endure visits from the vile Messrs. Croup and Vandemar, to deal with the roguish Marquis de Carabas, and to converse with a rat. Worse still, his friends and co-workers suddenly don't seem to recognise him.Writer: Neil GaimanDirector: Dewi HumphreysFor more information, visit the very small but quite significant Neverwhere page at http://www.loony-archivist.com...

I imagined Elen Page as door. Because Door is described as an unidentifiable age, but probably around 16. And Elen page does look a lot younger than she is.

Stardust was one of the biggest cinematic disasters I had ever seen, and I doubt Gaiman was very happy with it himself. Because of that film (and a few others) I now boycot watching movies made from books that i've already had the pleasure of reading. For example, I refuse to see VALIANT when its completed as I wish to keep MY version of Holly Blacks brilliance alive in my mind and not be discouraged (yet again) by poor Hollywood interpretations.

Well, if you're willing to believe Wikipedia, there is currently a script for the film being penned by Neil Gaiman. It'll happen.

I, for one, think this is a pretty good representation of an amazing novel.

YES, I really want to see this as a feature-length film with the budget and casting that Stardust had, because it's a much more worthy and original story. If done right, it could be the greatest sci-fi/fantasy movie in ever.

I disagree, actually.Simon Pegg wouldn't be a very good Richard.I can't say I know of a good suggestion, but I can say that Simon Pegg would not match up to Richard very well at all.It seems that he can play the oblivious, lost protagonist, such as he did in Shaun of the Dead, rather well, but Shaun of the Dead and Neverwhere are two vastly different ideas, and to have what could be considered Shaun starring in Neverwhere would probably mess up the story's originality.

Definitely, simon pegg would be awesome. This Richard is alright, but I pictured him being more lost and confused... a bit like arthur dent in hitchikers guide.

that is awesome, i would appreciate that
