I agree with you. In this kind of tournaments, you can see the wide experience of this masters: strategy, technique, skill; and there´s no comparision with younger competitors.

Wow. I'm not terribly familiar with the style, but as it drew on, I founf myself tensing up. It seems very strategic. The ending was very nice.

Actually, to outsiders an 8th dan match is not something which can be appreciated. Even to a lot of kendoka. If an outsider wants to see some more 'mainstream' and 'exciting' kendo, he should watch teh WKC, or AJKC, which is filled with younger, faster, more athletic, kenshi, who would still get beat down by an 8th dan.
