I agree with your statement;"American culture has really taken away the meaning of true budo." Its true, a lot of places just teach minimal stuff to make money from the parents of a kid how wants to learn Karate because it 'looks cool in a movie'My Master taught me so much stuff before i EVER touched a Katana. I didnt touch at Katana for about 18 months while begining her training

You're correct. You don't have to be asian to do this. I should have said "American culture has really taken away the meaning of true budo." Knowing technique is not budo. It's a shame that arts like this have been watered down. People no longer want to learn to paint, they would much rather paint by numbers. By the way, I love Bruce Lee movies! But he's not the greatest martial artist.

That is not true. Just because someone is not Asian doesn't mean they dont know what they are doing. Look at the so called greatest martial artist Bruce Lee. Everyone loves him, but hes not full asian, born in America, and his style was made IN AMERICA! I may not know the katana itself, but I do know the sword in general and the many forms it has, and I know that you have to know the weapon you are using inside and out to even begin to start doing things like the video.

are you being serious or what

American martial arts have really taken away the meaning of true budo. To give credence to this type of kata does nothing to promote what was once a noble art. This kid moves well and is certainly athletic but has no heart. All yin no yo. Most of you commenting on this forum or simply watching this video will never know what it means to be a budoka.

good job. I liked it. Dont listen to what other people say. I got a video just like yours and people think its crap.

Is there a place to get higher resolution video of stuff such as this so you can see the sword more clearly?
