remember...nothing YET observed by science travels faster than the speed of light...key word being YET! Physics is a very erratic subject. And even if we cant travle faster than light ( which i know sooner or later we will)...we will expoler just as are ancestors did...they did not go straight out of Africa to europ in a matter of 2 years did they? First we will populate mars..then the astroid belt..then the moons...then the kuiper belt..ort cloud..then the real human ingenuity pops in!STARS!!

i AGREE 100% we need to get off of middle east gas, rockets are PRIMITIVE, 20th century technologies, it is the 21st century and NASA needs to realize that and stop using ancient, outdated 20th century garbage and come up with new ideas for the future of propulsion and of mankind.

this stuff is alittle outdated - if they get antimatter manufacturing online a trip to mars could be made in 40 days or less!

create some type of "space sail" attached to an spacecraft and throw a nuclear bomb at the sail. I dont remember from which documentary I got this idea from, but I heard this idea can launch a spacecraft up to 10 Million MPH.

Michioi is no slouch either with quick analytical wit. I loved it on the 1st vid in this topic when he compared man going to the moon in 1969 then over the next 30 years going no farther than orbiting the Earth with Chistopher Columbus discovering the New World before being confined to sailing up and down the Spanish coast for the rest of his life. Lol...good analogy.

The space progams of today basically consist of strapping a glorified box onto the back of a giant firework. We need to develop technologies that do not rely on fuel in any way because in space you cant just refill whenever you need to.One day we as a species will need to go into space and colonise planets as our own is not going to be here forever. We as a species have deadlines to meet. |
