what do you mean nowadays? I Love Lucy, The Honey Mooners, All in the Family, and Step by Step. (sorry, couldn't think of any cartoon families before flinstones and jetsons right off hand) But it seems like it's always been about the disfunctional families, or at least since "watching" has been a pastime of the US.

I like this version better, too synthetic in the 80's, I guess they didn't want to dish out the money for an orchestra. but why record it again? I like the trumpet during judy's part better in this one.
