I just saw Boris with Michio last night in Milwaukee and it was fluppin incredible. Michio's solo during this song just melted the crowd's faces. He was absolutely the star of the set. It took me back to when I first got lost in Pink Floyd's soundscapes 25 years ago. Watching him play the guitar and coax all that beautiful ambient noise out of his SG was sublime!

if youre confused as to what they meandont pretend you have any knowledge to impart to mebecause a tenuous grasp of the concepts is obviousthe styles share a common root and a few key aspects but they are by no means interchangablesecondif you note all the original posts are around the same timei had heard of them and decided to check all their vids outit so happened that i didnt like any of them at allnow isnt that my place to decide whether or not i like a band?

aren't you quick to take offense ? i don't know that there are 'official' according to hoyle definitions of what separates speed, neoclassical, and shred. back when i took lessons, a lot of the teachers used those terms as interchangable. i wasn't inferring anything about you at all about you.however, the sheer number of comments you attach to boris videos, when you clearly hate them is a little creepy and probably time wasted. i won't reply to anymore of your comments- you 'win'.

sorry to inform me?are you inferring that im a nerd?including that information would be irrelevant otherwise thats a laughable approachif youre going to try talking down to medont tell me something i knowyou have speed and neoclassical confused with shred there

yeah, i do happen to know what the nomenclature means.(and i wouldn't say wata does it) to slightly older music afficienados like me, it also has a negative connotation- namely of rote expertise and shit that's just scales played as fast as possible. you end up with nonsense like yngwie who plays at the same speed all the time, and in the same key. and sorry to inform you, but most geeks who are into shredding diss hendrix for not playing fast enough.

do you know what shred guitar even is?its players like zakk wylde jimi hendrix and satrianiwho mix technical playing and strange guitar tricks and noises like all sorts of harmonics and whammy dives/pitch modulationsthis wata character does not fall into this catagoryshe makes noise, but shred she does not

i'm going to regret asking this i'm sure, but what shredders are up to your standards ?
