Venezuelan people are the product of a melting pot of Spaniards, Italians, Portuguese, Arabs, Germans, Africans, and Indigenous people. Chavez is the first nonwhite president in Venezuela. (what Obama would be to USA)... Venezuelans are very attractive that why the have won the most miss universe pageants. Conclusion: Chavez is a good president. He does not hate U.S. Americans, he only HATES G.W.Bush, like many many U.S. Americans. at least he's got huge balls to say the Iraq invasion is Wrong..

venezuela is one of the oldest democarcies in the American continent. Hugo Chavez was elected by the majority of Venezuelans. He is a good man. Some Venezuelans are upset because he has given a lot of money to help poor countris in the American continent. Chavez is our president because we want it that way. He is charismatic and intelligent. venezuela's economy is growing (%8.4 yearly).

I have dual citizenship (U.S. American and Venezuelan America). I lived the first 18 years of my life in Venezuela, 7 in Florida, and I moved back to Venezuela again. I also have a Bachelors degree in Management Information Systems from FIU (Miami). What can I say about Hugo?? take a look at the numbers...The GDP per capita in Venezuela has been increasing %8.4 annually. Venezuelans were the happiest people on earth according to the Guinnes world records book in the 2008 edition.

Yeah, I would concur that just like Cuba you do have percentage of the population in Venezuela who do not like Chavez but generally they are pro-west. America hates to lose which is why the propaganda tool is used to demonize Chavez and Castro. Two great men who prove that you can stand up to a major superpower and win. There are some very good documentaries on both. I commend Barbara Walters for this perspective.

It seems that anyone who stands up for the poor people of the world is labled a communist or a tyrant. I do not think however that the people of America should be held responsible for the greed and striving of power amongst the government and leading corporations. Chavez is an inspiration to none atheists everywhere. As much as the United States tries to deny it, they have been responsible for the deaths of people in Latin America for too long now. People who are catholics.

I agree with you. It's the media who misinforms the broad majority.
