yeah. I checked your vid dude! Crazy ass chords! Great job! Especially that Eadd9. I'd prolly never use that chord, but it sounds great in yer guitar cuz of the tone. If I did those chords with my acoustic the sound whould be too bright.Thanks for sharing yer version dude. Yeah, i mean it's all subjective. I personally like the color the extra notes add to the chords, especially when your not actually just playing along with the song ;).

LOL! The cam I used for all my latest videos is the cheapest from logitech (if not lifetech lol). You won't have a problem there. Do mind the mic.Oh, and I did try to rip it the way you said when I first learnt it, but the voicing is too bright, too much treble. It's supposed to be a bassy and dark song. With the chords you said, it just sounds... too happy, you see?It feels weird and blunt in power chords, I know. But it's this dark way that transposes best the feel of the song, I believe.

Sorry, i shouldn't have said you didn't do a good job.What i wrote actually had a mistake, i actually meant F# major, which you do correctly. I was just pointing out the subtle differences in the other chords that make the song all the more amazing. I'll post a video if you want, but i only have a crappy logitech webcam, so it probably wont be that good.

So what's up with "what he is actually playing"?First note being an F of ANY kind is, in fact, wrong (period). I don't know wich versions you've been listening to, but ALL I've listened start with a pure and simple F#.But hey! This is not a good job. The correct chords that match what he is actually playing are not straight up major chords like that.Fmajor is the first chord, but then it is Gmaj7 followed by A6 (bar top 4 strings), then it is Fminor followed by Eadd9 (use pinky to get 4th fret on D string)

yeah there's something about piano, if you can understand a tune on piano you can understand it on anything.I had a couple of AKG 1000s's that i was pretty much forced to sell having fallen on hard times a couple of years ago, but i'd rather beg on the streets than sell my guitars. Fortunately it never quite came to that, but I've sold almost all of my studio gear. One day i'll get it all back, hopefully, but in the meantime i'm, playing pianos for my friends, etc |
