yeah i agree to, why not? it doesn't hurt anyone. and if people don't like the CGI they can easily buy the old version.

I agree with you 100%, but it is still cool to see some of the remastered images. It makes something old look more up-to-date, and more real in some cases. As long as the story isn't changed, and if it is done right, then why not?

agreed.but then again it's pointless to do this to star wars because there effects look fantstic now. while star trek (the original series) doesn't really hold up. but i prefer the old version. it just give the real feeling of a 1960's t've sereis. nothing is more 60's that star trek.

even though i disaprove of people stuffing cgi into old things just to remarket something. i am interested into what it looks like.

Or, if you don't like remastered versions don't watch them and don't buy the dvds.

Amen to that Steve!! It bugged me to know end when Star Wars issued their remastered set with new efx, and this is basically the same thing. I wasn't really necessary.

I love the remastered Trek. I have both the remastered and original series on DVD and VHS. Watching the remastered and seeing the the new shots is like seeing an old friend that has just lost weight. I don't think it takes away anything. Hey if you don't like it then don't buy it or watch it. Oh yeah. What George Lucas did to Star Wars was a little different. He added scenes and changed certain shots..Like Greedo firing first. Now that was horrible !!

These effects are a huge improvement on the original. They look more real and stunning. What's not to like? I'll take a photorealistic 3d rendering over something that looks like a faded cartoon any day. |
