i remember playing this weird american hologram arcade game when i was younger , you played a person travling through time , it was pretty horrible game , and it cost a dollar

It's not Japanese technology, but a Japanese ad campaign. This technology is European, I believe.

there is water in the air because of the fountain.. so the light can only be seen because of the water.. with no fountain there is no hologram

It'd cost too much. Also, this is foreign technology. It *usually* takes a while for this stuff to become acceptable overseas.
