I was there... we were all eating lunch... I work on the 736 drum structure (less than 50 feet away from the crane) my prayers go out to all the familys who have suffered any loss at all.

It was a crawler crane. It was one of Deep South Rigging's out of Prairieville Louisianna.

I was eating my lunch when the crane collapsed here is the wierd part that no one in the lunch room were i was at heard a sound of it. if it wasnt for the alarm we could have been unaware of the accident all i can say is that i am happy to be alive and no i cant take pictures of the crane to show you all because my ass will get fired two guys did and went out

I like the fact that they want to point the finger at the operator and it was my understanding that the operator wasnt even in the cab!!! Lets let the victims and the company mourn and try to heal before we try to point a freaking finger!!

it looks like it failed in the middle where the tower goes up out of the foundation it looks like a stationary crane not a crawler they have a name for those type but i cant remember it

Funny how that works...miss a train, car breaks down, wake up late or off...then find out that something happened at your worksite at the time you should have been there.
