SPRINGFIELD / 5.5.08 - William E. McCarthy, 60, a retired Palmer police officer told a Hampden Superior Court judge today that he was too intoxicated to remember indecently assaulting an 11-year-old girl and kissed her, putting his tongue inside her mouth. McCarthy was sentenced by Judge Peter A. Velis to 18 months probation and the state will not go forward on a charge of possessing child pornography that McCarthy faced.

It is true he may have handle this in the wrong manner, but it sure wouldn't have been the wrong way if she had bad intentions. How would the cop had known? And 8 miles of blue lights? Come on, please! She didn't know he was a cop?!? A criminal can make lots of plan in 8 miles of road and thats is probably what I would have been thinking if I was him.
