This is me playing on my Gibson les paul 1958 re modded with Alnico pro II by seymour duncan. London city is an exact replica of marshall plex and also from the same decade ! The London city is modded by drtube. This mod is the #39 SIR mod. Thismod can be done with marshall based amps, this one is a London city, in the past was this the dutch copy of the marshall super bass. We used this amp because of its great transformators used then !!! The mod makes the amp more than before, when we are finisched you will have clean channel, drive channel (normal jcm800 drive) and the #39 channel (the modded mode) also we provide a Fx loop in the amps wich is switchable, it will never be a tonesucker that way. I tried to play some licks for all you slash fans out there, please don't pay to much attention to the playing but just listen to the great #39 sound wich we create by adding an extra pre-amp tube and a circuit board in the amp. This is a direct copy of the real #39. We got all our info from people direct involved with the real #39 rented by SIR that days. Please if you have any questions about the mod, or like to have it too, feel free to email meat : len@drtube.nl . I hope you like the mid '80 slash sound as we do, there should be a lot more amps sounding like this one out there !!!!! please listen to the sound of the amp its great and doesnt cost to much !!! give drtube a call at : len@drtube.nl

Appetite he used a modded 59SL, UYI he uses JCM800s and a JCM 2555 Jubilee, then like contraband he primarily used Vox AC30 and Libertad everything was on a Vintage Modern I believe. I have a JVM and since I use Duncan Alnico II pro pickups on everything, even strats, for the most part my tone sounds like Slash's even though I'm not really trying to copy his. The power amp on a JVM is the same as a JCM 800 almost, and the clean channel is amazing.

Klinkt goed man! als ik dat geweten had dat dat mogelijk was had ik mn London city en Sound city niet weggedaan. Ik heb nu 2 Marshall JCM800's, ook geen straf maar dit klinkt wel erg erg vet hoor!See you!ieme

for the appitite a marshall jcm 800 (2203/2204 or 2210/2205) or a moded 1959 plexi, the actual amp slash used was a nim caswell modded marshall 1959T superlead.then for Illusions slash used marshall jubilees, the silver silver jub's, the gold and black jub's, and later on his own signature model, which is exactly the same as the earlier jubilee heads but with slash's name on it

Which would be good for the appetite era and which for the use your illusions era?I really like the vintage modern, but I was thinking that it might sound a little too rough.
drtuberotterdam (June 24, 2008 at 6:42 pm)
hmm wich period of slash ??? Contraband sounds mainly as Vintage Modern ....
stretch90 (June 24, 2008 at 6:40 pm)
