I still think krav maga seems more practical than Hapkido. Especially with the gun disarm. Those guys would have been shot, bit I do like alot of their techniques and see it as very effective in real combat situations.

Well my Hapkido Master tell me that both the creator of Aikido and the Creator of Hapkido train under the Japanese Art of Aikijujutsu then from what they study they create their formal schools The Hapkido and Aikido.

well i have been told by my Hapkido Master that both hapkido and Aikido were derived form the Japanese Art Aikijujutsu.The two masters learn from Aikijujutsu so yeah its like they are brothers arts.

Yes, (This fact is disputed, but..) apperantly Hapkido's founder studied with Sokaku Takeda, who also trained O Sensei, the founder of Aikido.Again, that fact is disputed, some people have very strong opinions of it too.That being said, Kisshomaru Ueshiba, O Sensei's son, did state that his father had practiced with a Korean man that went on to found his own art in Korea if I remember correctly.

I was told about hapkido from a friend he told me that aikido is the sister art of hapkido which i thought was interestin and they did a episode of hapkido on fight quest which i was kinda amazed at the training I wanted to do that :P just for the hell of it cause i'm crazy enough to do it

Although I've never studiedn Hapkido, I've loved it ever since I saw Billy Jack. Very effective art.
