Very true..and we in the rest of the world are most worried about the Christian right wing and their influence on your government. The rapture is not something we aspire towards manifesting in the Middle East!

QUOTE Political reasons? What might they be? /QUOTEThe vast left wing conspiracy I guess. The bible and Jesus clearly teach ideas that would be best represented by democrats, Feed the poor, take care of the needy etc. (the value of the individual) yet the church is pro state (anti welfare, imprisoning more people then the Soviet union ever imprisoned) the Church supports what is quickly becoming fascism. That's proof enough something is systematically wrong with the American church.

LOL. Pretty straightforward from your comments, man.

Matthew 24:23-24 Then if any man shall say unto you, Lo, here is Christ, or there; believe it not.For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect.Read the Torah and the Prophets and what YAHUSHUA ha'MASHIACH / JESUS THE CHRIST taught us !

Political reasons? What might they be?

This is nothing but crap.I am a Christian, but not a Charismatic nutbar, "healing" evangelist follower. I would not use this story as a valid argument against Christianity or God anymore than I would use phrenology or spontaneous generation as examples of how scientists are crackpots and shouldn't be trusted.I do not park my brain at the door when I engage in my faith. But this stuff... well, what do you expect from uneducated people with no clear systematic theology? Crap, of course.

You've missed the entire message of scripture. But, you have your political reasons.

". . . as a scientist, I can not help feeling that all religions are on a tottering foundation. None is perfect or inspired. The idea that a good God would send people to a burning hell is utterly damnable to me. I don't want to have anything to do with such a God.I am an infidel today."-- Luther Burbank, interview in San Francisco Bulletin, Jan. 22, 1926

So the Old Testament wasn't perfect and old Jehovah was just having a bad hair day ..or a few hundred years of them? What happened? Did he go on some anger management workshops? Or perhaps some Buddhist meditation retreats? LOL

Yea, but the new testament is the new and improved version.
