I had the pleasure to meet Frank Mundus at my Father's Restaurant, the Casa Nova in SI NY. We had dinner and presented Capt Frank with cake with his picture on it. Funny as it was at 10 yrs old I idolized Frank. The very next summer my sister and I Saw Frank at the dock at West Lake Lodge in montauk (lol) and he blew us off as wharf urchins. Man what a memory...But Capt. Frank is truly the Monster Man and still a little bit my hero.

He lived in a different time, different mentality. I do not condone this, but when he was doing this, there was no education to be had by the public about what an important animal sharks are to the oceans ecosystem. He was in the heyday of Shark apathy, they were considered nothing but cold blooded killers, and the publics perception allowed this behavior. Don't judge so quickly, society today has many of the same traits, just in different areas.
