I'm buying a theremin after seeing this video. I think it is a beautiful sounding instrument.

One of the main reasons why it is so unknown is because it is almost impossible to play well. Also, for every thereminist like Randy George, there are hundreds who play horridly, but are able to pass themselves off as good because of the lack of knowledge about the instrument. This tends to give people rather bad impressions of the capabilities of the theremin. Just look at about every theremin video on Youtube that isn't George, Rockmore, Kavina, Eyck, or one of the few other decent ones.

I didn't know theremins existed until this very day and wow! I wonder how come it's so unknown, being such a beautiful instrument! From the way it sounds to the way it's played.I can't stop listening to this song and it's not just because I love Yann Tiersen's work!=) you played this wonderfully, 5/5 |
