Man, where did you get this computer? I found a deal at a local store for 50 bucks, but I am afraid that it has a password on it. Is there any place on the internet where i can get a cheap one?

Thank you, Sames4000, for the info. Now I can install Panther without any worries. :)

As long as its installed on the OS X 10.2 partition, you shouldnt worry.

you can natively do it in OSX OR do it in OS 9.2.2

Hi. I have a question. I received an iMac just like this one not long ago. It came to me with OS 9.1 and OS X 10.2 Jaguar on it. I want to install OS X Panther on it. I have the install CD and all, but something makes me nervous. After I install OS X Panther on my iMac, will it erase the second operating system I have on it right now (OS 9.1), or will it remain there until I use the operating system again?

Wow! This is going to knock the socks off some of the poohbas who say you can't run two OS from one hard drive. Am I right in thinking that when you installed Panther, something must have partitioned your HD to accommodate the second OS?I bought a b/w G3 tower and installed a second hard drive to operate OS 9.2.2. The initial HD had OS Panther on it. My 350 MHz processor is slow, heaps of RAM (768 Mb), but your 333 MHz seems to kick things along okay.

Hope you know that if you have both on OS X you can use Classic mode for old apps |
