i dont know for sure on the XCR. Since the FN SCAR was picked for SOCOM, the XCR has kinda faded from the spotlight.The FN SCAR is a great weapon which is certainly better than the Barret or the Hk416, but the XCR was much better.If your looking for a 6.5 weapon, Alexander Arms makes an AR type platform for the 6.5.

nah the 5.56 travels at about 3000 fps. A 7.62 X 39mm travels at about 2700 fps. The 6.8mm starts out at i think about 2900 fps but it loses velocity very quickly because of its short fat shape. After 300m its even traveling slower than the 7.62.The 5.56 flies afr because its very small and aerodynamic, but it is too light so winds can affect its flight path.The 6.5 Grendel is the best assault rifle round available. It stays supersonic ridiculously long, even longer than a 7.62 NATO.

dude. The 6.8 doesnt give you more range than a 5.56. Do some more research. After 300m the 6.8 will perform like a 7.62 X 39mm. The 5.56 still gives you an effective range of up to 450m +.

is this firearm available for citizen purchase? does anyone know? i can't seem to find this M4 on the Barrett website
