This and the Gardiner production are as close to perfect as one can get. Tempo is fine, Mozart WAS Mozart and NOT Mahler or Bruckner. Light, elegant and quick are the rule not the exception.

Beautiful voice. WAY TO FREAKING FAST! If I paid to see this in person, I'd be really unhappy.

This is so poorly done by the singer! Holy rache! Her diction and pronunciation at the beginning is horrendous! She goes at the beginning at a horribly fast tempo to avoid having to sing the high F's as long but OH when the triplets come she speeds down so dramatically (by half) to be able to sing them. AWFUL acting and singing!

How is it possible that they allowed this??? Its too fast, you can't just accelerate a tempo just like that... I think that killed the song. Why is the queen smiling that much? Is like if she was smiling to the public, she's not in a concert, and it doesnt look like a crazy smile. It was out of place like the tempo. Great voice though... terrible mistake of the conductor and the production.

Where is O Zittre nicht zum lieden, with Birgit Louise Frandsen, I love too...

Sadly much too slow. As every opera scholar knows, Mozart originally intended this aria to create the impression of a soprano playing a slide whistle.:p |
