I found that video cool! It is fascinating what human beings can do with a little help of the technology! The battle was outstanding! Does anyone know the song which is played during the banquet?

The seasick sailor was a nice human touch. What a wonderful piece of work! Thanks for posting!

It's Carmina Burana by Karl Orff. It's also on You Tube.

I'm giving a paper on the Bayeux Tapestry at the British Museum in July. However, the scene I think shows the action as recorded in the chronicles, Harold was wounded in the eye, but then was mowed down by William's knights who hacked him to death. Another interpetation is that the hand position of Harold is that of a man holding a spear and not an arrow...this part of the tapestry was heavily restored.

Dear fugueman2How do you think Harold was killed? An arrow in the eye, hacked down by Norman knights or both?Best wishes.

Dear Faplock,Please may I suggest that if the English right flank had stayed - as ordered- at the top Harold would have won.William was lucky. He needed a triumph to retain his dukedom an overseas adventure to distract attention at home, now where have weheared that?
