"Million Dollar Weekend" was on the same album as this one. I think you had to be around for the week or so that some stations aired this record to hear it. I'm surprised that so many people were listening to the radio that week!

Million Dollar Weekend was more Crowbar-like, that one came out in 1975 I think. I've never heard this one.

I agree with your assessment, mojo, and lack of airplay. But, what I meant was, weren't a lot of rockin' groups toning down their sound around this time, changing with the times. I believe they were the fore-runners to a shift in style. Did you ever believe that Alice Cooper would have a hit single with 'Workin' Man', for example. And yes I do own Crowbar's LP's and loved their boogie ways, too! Oh, well, this woulda been a hit in the States if released by an American Super Group, I believe!

That was good. We saw Kelly Jay a couple of years ago and he looked like it was a struggle to perform. Crowbar proabably deverved more recognition than they ever received. Thank you for thinking of us aging Canadians out there.

Oh, sure, the intrumentation and arrangement is nice. But judging by the three weeks it spent scraping the bottom of the charts, apparently it is not what radio wanted to play! Crowbar was a heavy-duty rockin' boogie band, and this record is totally out of character for them. If it's any indication of how the band felt about this album, it doesn't even have a title. The title is its catalogue number.

You are absolutely right in your diagnosis, mojo, but wasn't this what radio stations wanted to play? I still believe the instrumentation is great..... |
