It's comedy. Her act is sort of a put-on. She can't sing a lick but that inconvienient fact that doesn't stop her. Gotta love Carol ("God I'm OLD!") Channing.

According to George Jacobs, who was Sinatra's long-time valet, Frankie won the battle of the bulge by wearing a special device to hide it inside his trouser leg. Otherwise, there would have been a censor problem, he wrote. Channing, btw-- she was probably the least versatile star ever, but you have to give her props for having no prototype whatsoever, and completely inventing herself.

That woman is fantastic. She will live forever, and I will happily sit by and watch her go. I have so much respect for Carol Channing, she's just incredible.
