An absolutely magical voice. Is it true that she only has one working vocal cord? I seem to remember reading that years ago. It is a shame that America has completely neglected her.

I don't think it's a matter of prejudice in the case of Nana. There's no particular hatrid of Greeks. It's that Hollywood never fell gaga in love with her. They're funny that way when someone has incredible genius and talent.

At this time, just for the albums sold, the 5most famous pop singers or groups in history are Elvis, The Beatles, Celine Dion, Nana Mouskouri and Abba. Only one of them is American. These fabulous 5 are still selling a lot albums and they will continue to sell for the near future. For the long term, with the probable disappearance of the physical CD albums, I thing that the persistent activity of the view count on Youtube will be a better indicator of the persistent popularity of artists.

In fact, she is probably, with Elvis, the most famous pop singer in history. People in US have a distorded view in that matter. With more curiosity and less prejudice - just a little; it's so easy now with Youtube - you will discover huge talent everywhere in the world. Just try female fado singer in Portugal to begin with. Musical horizon do not vanish with Whitney, Mariah or this new kid, Leona. BTW I'm not Portuguese but Canadian.
