Joe McGinley 82, veteran of F/501PIR, is still living and was the inspiration for this ballad. His grandson, Nashville singer Chris Winward, is seen in this video wearing his grandfather's original jump uniform. Both appear in the 90 minute documentary, "A Paratrooper's Story" available on Amazon.

Great video and song. I was a Rakkasan and have been to Bastogne, those guys had their hands full. Gen McAuliffe has a huge set of "NUTS"!
