Wow they were cool. Also the Micky Mouse shirt is really funny.

I've heard of three of those bands...I meant what's generally popular though. Last year I was hanging around with a group of people and one of them asked if anyone had heard of Porcupine Tree, and I was the only one who had.

Fair points, to be sure. I actually quite like ELP's music and think you should give Keith a little more credit as a songwriter (especially on Tarkus and Karn Evil 9). But Keith also did his fair share of inane jumping around and general "fakeness". Didn't hurt the music though -- though I can see why his antics might have been an impediment to appreciating the serious artistry that was also going on.

Actually, no. Keith Emerson is skilled and all, but they just kept writing the same shit over and over again. Then every solo sounded so similar to previous songs that you'd just go, "eh, seen it. Heard it. Enough." Then they just redid classical pieces on moog synth as if it were really that cool. It just seemed like they were more in it for the money, not the music.

What are bands today thinking? It's like they don't even care about the music, like they only want money and/or popularity. When music can be this good, why do people insist on writing the same boring thing over and over again? It almost makes you want to go out and kill emos... almost...

Well, for example: Robert Fripp of King Crimson, he never looked like he was excited or like he even gave a shit what the audience thought of him...and he's awesome. How about every member of Pink Floyd. No jumping all over the place with those guys. Stage show with lights? Yes. But fakeness and idiocy, no. All of it complimented the music. Fakeness and hopping around like an idiot completely insults the music, if you ask me.
