No majority for any party in NWFP, Pakistan - 29 Feb 08
The elections may be a done deal but no party has scored even a simple majority to form a govt in NWFP.Bordering Afghanistan and considered by many as the frontline province in the so called war on terror. The religious parties who swept the polls in the last elections after the US led invasion of Afghanistan have suffered a major set back due to a split in the religious party's alliance .Now the people of the frontier have given what is considered a split mandate with the Awami national Party the most number if seats.

Islamist parties losing the NWFP to a left wing party is kinda like the Republicans losing Alabama to the Democrats given that they're both strongholds of conservtism.
