I love Eight Belles... she was such an amazing filly and I wish she hadn't died. Wish i could have met her, but then it would be even more sad.

I will miss Luke. He would put down the mic and come down to Champions Lounge and watch Hollywood Park. Died of a cardiac problem. Never be the same without him...he lived for this!

Sad news for racing today if you haven't heard. The track announcer none other than Luke Kruytbosch died today at his apartment. No word on his death. very good race caller. you will be missed. this will be his last derby he called.

What do you make of Dutrow guaranteeing the cold exacta of a Big Brown, Casino Drive finish? Dutrow does have $50,000,000.00 dollars and reasons at stake in claiming this as Big Brown will likely remain this whopping cash cow when he goes into stud. Dutrow can sleep easily knowing that he regularly hires Casino Drive's jockey for the Belmont, E Prado. If a Triple Crown winner in 2008 gives good face to thoroughbred racing in its current condition, so be it. I'll then keep my mouth shut.
