Please don't think I believe this crap. People often do get better and become free of any mental disorder symptoms but psychiatry doesn't acknowledge that.In the world of psychiatry, what cures exist for mental illness. You are about to find out. This video references the top authorities of mental health in the United States. So, we have all these mental illnesses like depression, OCD, bipolar, ADHD, social anxiety disorder, Asperger's Syndrome, anorexia, and the list goes on. So, we prescribe all these drugs to people that are diagnosed with one or more of these mental disorders. Like antidepressants like Prozac, Zoloft, Paxil, Luvox, Celexa, Lexapro, Effexor or Wellbutrin. SSRI (Selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors) are often promoted as correcting chemical imbalances in the brain but there is no proof that depression or mental illness is caused by chemical imbalances in the brain nor is there any proof that antidepressants correct an imbalance.Medications like Ritalin, Concerta, Adderall, Dexedrine, Strattera, Focalin and Metadata for ADHD. All have undesirable side effects and can damage a person's organs. Often extreme states of mind like schizophrenia are drugged with antipsychotic medications such as Risperdal, Zyprexa, Seroquel, Geodon, Haldol, Thorazine, Stelazine and Clozaril. All of these drugs are used to control symptoms only. They are not cure for mental disorders. They all have an unknown mechanism of action. Some have side effects and adverse events that can cause permanent neurological damage, movement disorders, diabetes, weight gain, impaired cognitive functioning. If a bone heals we don't call it a cure. Similarly with mental illness, while the drugs don't cure, they don't heal either. Recovery and resiliency are roads to healing from troubling emotions and thoughts. In the same sense that bones heal so is there a healing which is referred to as recovery.

Yep, and the next step might be to go running, physical training and use St. Johns wort to manage the depression.Cure? I doubt there is one.

you have to take "cure" into context. effexor has not cured my depression, but it allowed me to cope with situations with much less anxiety. it really just depressed my emotions so much that i didnt feel. i didnt feel anxious, alone, or secluded anymore but the drawback is that i couldnt feel happy. i completely quit a few weeks ago and still have some powerful mood swings, but without effexor i think i would of killed myself. so... it isnt a cure, but a temporary solution i think.

you referenced onscreen "people in the JUVENILE system" when the text onscreen referenced "JUSTICE system"

I am a hard scientist, and in my opinion much of what passes itself off as Medical "science" and psychiatry is all about profit. Psychiatry in particular is based on the flimsiest statistically manipulated evidence.Example: You konw the meyers briggs was based on the work of Jung? Jung got his information on archetypes from drug trips and talking to an entity he met out of body. You might as well see an amazonian witchdoctor. It would be equally "scientific".

And the medication DOES not control the mental illness either...It at best helps you deal with your sickness!
