I first met Gamble in 1973 and whiled away many an hour (and a considerable number of brain cells) listening to his stories when he played at the Tradewinds Tropical Lounge in St. Augustine. He was perhaps one of the most unique and gifted storytellers I've ever heard. I introduced my son to him and we've had many laughs all these years on. If you're remembered, and Gamble you surely are, you will never die in the minds of those who loved you. Play on....

It was at Apple Jacks in Jacksonville, a little Pizza house in San Marco, that I first met and listened to Gamble. What a loss the world suffered with his death. I could listen to his stories for hours.

I would like to say Hi to the family. I used to hang out at your house in the high school days. Good times! Hey Stephanie.

Gamble Rogers...thanks! I hope someone will find more vids of him and post them. I saw Gamble a couple of times when he played a small tavern at FSU in the early 70's; everyone was stunned silly. My favorite story was about him as traveling Bible salesman (dog in "suspended animation"). Favorite quote, "The Lord gives me grace, and the Devil gives me style."

I am a New Yorker and I loved Gamble since the first time I saw him in Miami. Orator and fingerpicking deity.
