From Information Clearinghouse: http://www.informationclearing... training materials were intended to instruct servicemen and women about the use and hazards of depleted uranium munitions. In addition, the training regimen included instructions for soldiers who repair and recover vehicles contaminated by depleted uranium.Throughout 1996, these videos sat on a shelf, while U.S. soldiers continued to use and work with depleted uranium munitions. In June 1997, Bernard Rostker, The Department of Defense (DoD) principle spokesperson for their investigation of Gulf War hazardous exposures, stated that the depleted uranium safety training program would begin to be shared by a limited number of servicemen and women in July 1997. STILL TODAY the vast majority of servicemen and women in the U.S. military, and likely in the armed forces of other countries which are developing or have obtained depleted uranium munitions, are unaware of the use and dangers of depleted uranium munitions, or of the protective clothing and procedures which can minimize or prevent serious short-term exposures.

Or unfortunate enough to inhale it in its aerosolized form after an impact.

Depleted uranium does not present a significant radioactive hazard (unless you are stupid enough to eat it). It affects the kidneys and symptoms are similar to heavy metal poisoning. I should know, I was a nuclear weapons technician for 15 years.

I was an explosive ordinance specialist for the USAF I think I know. And I have training in disarming and recovering nuclear weapons. That includes deplete uranium sabots and Ammunition. There is a reason other then exposure abrahms sabot rounds are in a seperate unit contained within the tank turret.

Did you listen to the video?

guys its depleted uranium there is a reason they use it. Theres not enough radiation to kill or hard you..And its more penetration power then lead.

Use of radioactive munitions is so totally irresponsible, and so typical of the DoD -- there are some places we really don't want to go. It's so unsurprising and yet so sickening, that we as a nation would contenance the use of such toxic materials - and it's not a backup threat like nukes in the cold war, we used these munitions in Iraq. There are true moral absolutes, and if we can live with ourselves in this case, then the US has lost any claim to holding the moral high ground in the world.

According to statistical studies comparing children of DU exposed Vets, Children of Vets who were not exposed to DU and Children of the population at large, indicates the birth defect rates are equivalent. However, I do not know if the same studies have shown any contribution of the vaccines. The vaccines may cause health problems.Have you been tested?

Go to the VA and get tested for DU poisoining. ALso GWS has possibly been linked to some of the vaccines given during that period. Get in the VA database so they can help. 24th Mech Acorns!

About 9/11, I heard that world trade center was sold two-weeks than it crashed and the Pentagon was burned down to destroy some dirty files in it...
