it was because they roped in the QRF to the other crashsite, they didnt think it would happen twice. then the ground forces were taking heavy casualties and were pinned down at walcotts site. the convey was then enrout to the first but never made it because of poor directions given from the CSAR chopper, eventually they took so many casualties the convoy had to return and leave the rangers/delta stranded for several hours.
