Yes Australia is notorious for being the main penal colony of the British Empire. When you visit the old cemeteries, you will see the letters "POME" on them - Prisoner of Mother England.

As far as immunity to poisons go, that is a serious thing Im surprised so few people know. Read the history of Rasputin on this internet if you have doubts. He knew he might be assassinated so he ingested greater and greater amounts of arsenic over time,not quite enough to kill him, until he could withstand enough to kill an elephant. World leaders have done that since the Roman days, to make themselves harder to kill. It isnt a Princess Bride invention.
