No one seems to have identified the ear touch thing correctly. I'm pretty sure Miles is pissed off with his own playing throughout the whole thing - it's sounds riddled with frustration; those trills on the same note; those intense little introverted phrases towards the end, and he is sweating bad, and he looks fucked off with himself at the end. I think the ear touch is towards himself, like, "fuck! use your ear, dick!" I really like it, but he doesn't seem happy at all.

of course the real books are not written in the same key as the records. don't forget there were only records in those days all the way into tapes. if you want something accurate invest in jamey aebersold, or practice the same song in different key signatures. jeez!!!!!!

Real Books suck! Alot of the tunes are not written right or either they are in the wrong key. Jazz players dont read unless its a special occassion. U shud listen to the recording. Thas really the best way to learn Jazz.
