High on Fire or Nachtmystium? I'm seeing them on October 24, so if you're from High on Fire, I'll see you there!

5:05 onward. the tension buildup before this part and the release onward is utterly amazing. such intense emotion and relinquishment in the simple riffing and vocals. listen to the cd it kills. you kinda drift into a trance.

numai un roman putea sa dea asa un comment >.>" numi vine sa cred ce natie avem, daca e vocea mai hard nu inseamna ca ii ca satan :|:|only a romanian could write such a comment, i can't believe what nation we have, if the voice sounds more hard it doesen't mean it sounds like satan :|:|, it's clear that the one who wrote this comment doesen't know anything bout metal :|, only linkin park and tht stuff :|, opeth is one of the greatest metal bands ever \m/

i don't think there a many bands that can play live as good a Opeth

the bass is wicked

Agreed. They are only compared because they are both labelled as 'progressive', but if people actually opened their ears they would realise the two bands are nothing alike.
LordOfRats (October 4, 2008 at 9:07 am)
Dont go raggin on Opeth just because someone called Tool generic. Both are great bands, and Opeth shouldnt be put down because of someones opinion about a band you like.Seriously though, nothing against Tool, but Opeth sounds nothing like Tool, not in a million years. Its fucking impossible to compare the two bands as neither of them sound any bit like the other.

Alright you idiot. Tool has about as origional of a sound as you can get. so NEVER call them generic. how many bands havev Opeth as their main influence, Tooll changed the progressive metal scene, anything that sounds like them is probably an imitation of their ORIGINAL sound! |
