I'm not sure Thelonious Monk even knew how to play the piano in any technical sense. I mean he holds his hands too flat for rapid passages. And he uses his whole hand to play passages which you could play with one or two fingers. Doesn't matter! He knew how to get out of it his own distinctive and captivating sound. One of jazz's giants.

this song is so great, its still being used to teach guitarists over 42 yrs later! It's kinda easy to play when you know the tune.

Monk truly uses the piano as a percussion instrument. Sometimes it looks like he is playing bongos! Brilliant (Corners)!
