Barbara was friends of the band since high school, hit and killed by a drunk driver on the way home from a show. She was an organ donor, donated her eyes and other organs. She is the angel who closes her eyes, the angel who opens her eyes is the recipient of Barbara's corneas. It's also supposed to show empathy for Barbara's mother who lost her daughter. It shows the circle of life, the old mother dies, a new baby is born. This was done as a dedication to her from the band.

because it became played out and about oh 86 percent of the human race are sheep so ther ya go. when it was in EVERYONE loved it. when it became played out it got labeled gay basically. especially since its somewhat of a ballad
