gator absolutely correct they stole the rings from the Planeteers and used a reverse duplicating machine to get their rings. After a while Plunder I think it was wondered what would happen if they combined thier rings and one of them replyed "hopefully havoc but lets find out" and Pollution was born. Planet destroyed Pollution (I think it was this one) by putting him through all of natures clean elements.

notice that captain planet gets all his power from super radiation (the sun).this cartoon was a mega dose of predictive programming for children. hilarious to watch though.
