I almost did in 1986. Sadly i had to wait for my ride, by which time security said no I couldn't go back to the trailer :( Keter Betts i chatted with for a little bit while i was waiting for my friend. It was a terrific perfomance in Mansfield, MA

I should try and upload that verion I only have the audio. I know perhaps it's on a video somewhere. Collectors know what I'm talking about. Did you realize that some or all of her Ella in Hollywood set (A year later than the Berlin) was filmed? and released on Laserdisc in the 80s.

I have that version on an Ella cd so it's available -I belive it is called "Ella in Berlin" It's a Great performance.

Ella's fellas are her trio , which during this video consisted of Billy Yancy on bass, Gus Johnson on drums and the leader of the group Tommy Flannigan on piano

I have had that album (not cd lol) for years now. It is a great performance. From what the liner notes say the german didn't like every jazz musician that came on stage, but Ella won them over. She also has been known to wind up singing in markets while she was shopping.,she was a true professional. I love all the sings she sang, and what she stood for
