Your thoughts of grading fonts makes me thing of urine after someone's eaten too much broccoli. Anyone who wastes their time nitpicking fonts is losing customers and sounds like a bad comedian begging to be understood by the audience walking out.

this shits cool, but you r wasting your life. your conviction is towards a font style, its origins, and its "credibility". an art like typography was not meant to be dealt with with such scrutiny. its personal/proper visual expression, and you're fussing over the origin of a font??? if u ask me, u seem to be the no talent hack who just reads up on this, and thinks he understands it better than anyone. quit wasting your time fussing so stupidly... you do know theres a war going on, right?

Yes, unfortunately people can still make a career of being a designer even if they are suck at it. But that would make them a lousy designer. And a lousy designer doesn't last very long. Same thing goes to lousy doctor, lousy director, lousy lawyer, etc.

Microsoft and Apple couldn't afford to license Helvetica so they had to create/use a font that was similar [but not identical] to it...Arial. Just go to a font site and look up Helvetica...it has so many variations within the same family and the kerning/ligatures/etc. is well thought out and precise. Arial is just thrown together. Like Impact. Don't just use the fonts that come preinstalled on your PC or Mac...PLEASE!!!

Screw reading books on typography. You either know how to design or you don't. Unfortunately, you can still make acareer of being a designer even if you suck at it, which is why the job market is so damn crowded.
