By request, here is the full version of the 1997 Boston Macworld expo where we see Steve Jobs for the first time since returning to work for Apple after being gone since 1985. This was a very historic time for Apple because they were almost bankrupt at the time, so Steve announces a temporary partnership with Microsoft to a very hostile crowd. Bill Gates also makes an appearance.

Thats not that hard to figure it out, when the OSX kernel and Ubuntu kernel are both based on unix - thoguth OSX is XNU derivate and ubuntu is Linux (fix me if I am wrong with that OSX thing) - so their GUI is actualy very similar. Windows is Apple ripoff right from start..

Another historical fact is, that NeXT was Steve Jobs company and his product.. so it makes perfect sense, that they used it when Jobs came back to Apple - they took the better option.. it was much more technicaly advanced..

And look where Apple is now Steve. Steve Jobs is incredible, he turned that company around from near bankruptcy into an immense success and back on top where they rightfully deserve to be. Mac OSX is also growing and slowly taking market share from Windows, again rightfully so.

so true ... imagine what an OS utopia we would all live in if Microsoft had never existed
