NEBESHIKU (August 25, 2008 at 3:23 pm)
YOu are right! But if they want to bring it on, then i willl be only too happy to acomodate them!
juliette020z (August 24, 2008 at 3:54 am)
Nebeshiku why waste your time trying to argue with this total ignorant! There are a few on this site thinking that Nilsson is the Queen of all sopranos but they only are patriotic dudes who don't realize Sweeden is Out!!!!!

This recording was made as part of a recital disc in 1954 along with 'Tu che di gel sei cinta' (from the same opera) so presumably it was considered too expensive to hire a tenor to sing just a couple of phrases. In her 1957 recording of the complete opera, Calaf is sung by a not particularly distinguished Eugenio Fernandi. In the later recording Callas's voice shows signs of strain in the part of Turandot which, by this stage in her career, was really too big for her.

Superb rendition, but where is Calaf?
paulprocopolis (August 14, 2008 at 6:34 pm)
One certainly misses Nilsson's tonal brilliance and ease of delivery here, but who else finds such colour or makes such expressive use of the text, especially in the earlier stages?
NEBESHIKU (August 12, 2008 at 3:23 pm)
I'm the one dealing with trash since you are either a getto whore or an inbred trailer park white trash bitch! YOu only lower your self when you pay some one to let them get blow by you.
benzylalk (August 11, 2008 at 11:49 pm)
Calaf is missing here, Franco Corelli as Calaf in this recording- too beautiful for being true......

Silly me. I thought this was a discussion. I didn't realize that I was dealing with trash. [sigh] I'm ashamed that I lowered myself by attempting to educate ignorant filth like you. |
