It is a sad figure, that more soldiers in combat figure their enemies at a higher moral, than their leaeders. Maybe it's a psychological effect, but I think, fat asses don't fight, but backstabbing each other any day ... more hideous than field soldiers.

my father was there in 1944, as far as I know the Germans had (as an exception to the rule) pity with the men of the allied troops, who made at that time senseless efforts because of the insanity of their chiefs. It was cristal clear that the time ran for the allies, therefore it was a waste of lives. By the way Casino was WWII, Pauls video is France WW I trench-war.

Even the sound has a sad tone to it, I like it. I mean some people can bash it because it has really simple and straightforward lyrics, but I think it's good. Shows that even when the beatles are divided, they can still make good music. There's no doubt though, that their best stuff was when they were together =).

In a way this is a rather sad video. It is obvious that both sides did not want to fight each other but are merely pawns for those in higher positions of authority.
