Darth Maul is underappreciated, because he and Sidious are the only Sith you ever see in the movies, that aren't former Jedi. I love the wildness with which Darth Maul behaves.

possibly... but he had vanished before vader cut through him... otherwise wouldn't the cloak have his dead body in it for a short while?

Ah...no. I'm going to have to agree with Sangrenegra9 on this. Obi-Wan did allow Vader to kill him SO he could join with the Force. It was the only way Obi-Wan could truly help Luke...Yoda, however, DID ascend into the Force.
