Which standard is this? I think I know it, but what's the title?

Not good, not bad. I hope his legs get better soon.

Having command over the English language and implementing it to precisely color one's musings is a desirable trait and not an exhibition of pretension. I only wish more people could express themselves so eloquently. Your (naysayers and trolls) lack of access to a thesaurus notwithstanding, enroll in a debating seminar so your retorts might contain a smidgen of timing and tact.

I find it fascinating the extent to which people on this board have insulted polymath7. Those that have on some primitive level recognized their own latent inability to converse with any degree of validity have instead shown their inherent ignorance by resorting to base comments and irrelevant personal attacks that are certainly unvalidated and even more unwarranted.

Do you think your abuse merits a swifter response?I am not upset, and I do not begrudge you the urge to upbraid someone who has expressed an opinion you find invidious -I was recently quite curt with someone who claimed Joseph Beuys is a better artist than Picasso- such an urge is understandable. But to then reproach me for politely and logically defending my point of view and act as though you are the mistreated party requires uncommon audacity, my boy.

ofcourse, compare, but compare what ? quality ? on that level of practising an art in general, we stop discussing quality. but hey man, i'm gonna stop whinin on this topic, was fun two days ago, but now that you're taking two days to come up with such a pitiful response i fail to still see the fun side of thisif you're really upset and feel the urge to correct the flaws in my logics, write me an email, ... or something else, or go etch a sketch, or ... did i write something else already ?

As for my "outlet for denigration", you continue to widely misread my motive, and I submit that I have been incomparably more civil than you have. Bring an impartial person to peruse this board, and see if you can dissuade him of your hypocrisy.

You presuppose that disparate styles preclude any sort value judgment. I think this so obviously untrue that I didn't bother to point it out, and am grateful you at least spared me the tedious apples and oranges analogy. Tolstoy and Dickens could not be more dissimilar, and yet it is by no means meaningless or futile to attempt to decide whether Bleak House or War and Peace is the better book. I see no reason at all one may not compare Picasso and Rubens, Wren and Wright, Jarrett and Peterson.
