I dont agree with the war but id like to say if all people in the U.S were against joining the military we wouldn't have one. Wed be slaughtered. Its not like theirs a draft or people are forced to join.I see alot of people say support our troops their heros and get replys like go off and get killed, and their fighting for the government not me, but look at it this way because people sign up their is no draft. So their in a way saving you from being forced to join.

You didn't interpret the scenario correctly. If the person came into your house threatening to kill you, what would you do? Obviously the perpetrator would not allow you to leave or call the cops, so what would you do? Your dodging the question because everyone knows that in a life or death situation there comes a human instinct to live. Thus, the same with War. When people feel threatened, most usually resort violence/war. Fight or Flight.

if someone came into my house, I'd call the cops and get out of the house. But who is really being violent in this scenario? The person who came into my house, or me?
Kmill217 (September 9, 2008 at 12:12 am)
Nobody just willingly resorts to war. There has to be strong motive set in place for one another to inflict death and pain among others. You are telling me that if a stranger came into your house threatening you with your life that you would not resort to violence in order to keep your self alive. You should learn about Darwin and Herbert Spencers theories. Survival of the Fittest. I'd imagine if someone was threatening you or your family with their lives you would not AVOID conflict.

But that doesn't mean that WE have to resort to war. WE should learn from the mistakes that people made in the past. |
