Only person I can think of that has similar grip AND strength-saw your dl video- is wsm Magnus Samuelsson.

so basically you're telling him to stop doing legitimate strength feats and start doing cheap party tricks that any 10 year old kid can do? look for the gaps between the pages clay is a real strongman he doesn't need to cheat there are absolutely no cuts the reason it is so straight is because it is pure grip strength and no popping i do the same thing as does dennis rogers and pat povilaitis and all the real strongmen out there

Well, with most guys I might be suspicious of them being real as well, but in this case, I'm definitely sure these are not tricks but just pure strength!

Can't say I saw any cuts in the ones at the end, but the ones towards the beginning the cut in the center was quite evident. Either way, I know you can rip the phone book...Just look for the gaps between the pages and give it a tear.

Clay, I was motivated this evening after watching some grip strength videos. I decided to practice my technique and tore my way through a 314 page softcover textbook (I have access to large amounts of junk books to practice on). I wish I had recorded so I could post it. I will be posting some videos soon. I have just jumped back into training at home. Thanks for the motivation.Rob

Hi Clay, I wasn't sure how you were getting the clean tear until I tore a 2 1/2" thick paperback dictionary. I switched my technique because nothing was working. When I tried the different technique, the book almost "snapped" in a straight line across the edge, then I was able to tear through it. Thanks for your videos and tips. Rob

Guys, thanks for the comments. For the ones who don't believe, that's cool. Got nothing to prove anymore in the world of grip. Hopefully something in those videos will help your own tearing techniques.

it looks like there's a seam that he's tearing them apart from...but anyway, great vid!
