I first heard Dessie on Irish radio while driving through Connemara in 2004. When I got to Dublin, I went straight to a music shop to buy the Pound Road. The guy in the store tried to talk me out of it, described Dessie's singing as something near unlistenable. I only laughed and bought the cd anyway, and damn glad I did. Here's to you, Dessie. I'd love to see more video of you here. Your voice, to my ears, is the voice of God. Bless you forever!Mike

' just got back from a week in Galway. ' met Dessie at the Tí Coílí Pub where pints were downed and music listened to. Dessie wasn't singing that night (it was his birthday) but I bought his CD "the pound road" a few days later. It has "I've waited as long as I can (SAY YOU LOVE ME)" and twelve other songs. What a week!

Fantastic. I discovered Dessie last year as an Aussie living in County Cork; he was singing "Say You Love Me" with Sharon Shannon. I loved it and now have introduced many Aussies to it. Does anyone have a longer version?
