Cantonese is the MOST complex and difficult lyrics to write, as there are 9 different intonations compared to only 4 in Mandarin. It's not fair to compare Cantonese lyrics to Mandarin based upon faithfulness to original meaning, as Mandarin is much more flexible and forgiving.

Cantonese is my mother tongue, but I also speak English, Mandarin, and some French; Cantonese is the MOST complex and difficult lyrics to write, as there are 9 different intonations compared to only 4 in Mandarin. You cannot just compare Cantonese lyrics to Mandarin, which is much more flexible and forgiving.

the mandarin and cantonese versions have different lyrics. Though they are pronouned differently. they are written the same way right? |
